SOMEWHERE ROMANTIC

Towards you the room moves,

And the air begins to melt/ perspire!

               (The sheen of it all,

the glossy magazine of it all)

You’ve come with that south of France tan,

Ooooh, mon cherie!

Leaning on your laurels,

Twirling summer up like a dress….

Blowing your nose into my love,

Just a dirty handkerchief.

I somehow forgot how big you are,

until I stood next to you and watched your teeth shine with last year’s stories.

                                 ~~Take me somewhere romantic~~

Yet, you’re too big for Paris.

You’re too big for those parties:

                                       ducking into every doorway,

                                           hiding behind every flash.

Where you’re the thing that captures the swinging arms in mid dance,

The thing that glitters the moon and fizzies the bloom.

And

    Im just a visitor on the other side of the view;

watching you sugar every tongue with promise,

             sucking on lollipop gloom.
